Prefer & Would Rather

Genel veya anlık tercihleri belirtirken kullanılan temel kalıplar:

• Prefer + V-ing + to + V-ing: I prefer listening to music to watching TV.
• Would rather + V1 + than + V1: I would rather stay at home than go out tonight.

Wish Clauses (Regrets about the Past)

Geçmişte yaşanmış ve değiştirilemeyen durumlar için duyulan pişmanlıkları ifade ederken Wish + Past Perfect Tense (had + V3) yapısı kullanılır.

Formül: Subject + wish / wishes + Subject + had / hadn't + Verb3

Örnek: I wish I had studied harder for the English exam. (Keşke İngilizce sınavına daha çok çalışsaydım.)

3. Passive Voice (Edilgen Yapı) 🤖

Eylemi yapanın değil, yapılan eylemin veya etkilenen nesnenin ön planda olduğu durumlarda (teknolojik gelişmeler, haberler vb.) edilgen yapı tercih edilir.

Temel Formül: Subject + Be (zamana göre) + Verb3 (Past Participle)

• Simple Present: Active: They produce electric cars. → Passive: Electric cars are produced.
• Simple Past: Active: Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. → Passive: The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell.
• Future (Will): Active: Scientists will discover new solutions. → Passive: New solutions will be discovered.

4. Reported Speech (Dolaylı Anlatım) 🗣️

Bir başkasının söylediği sözleri aktarırken zamanlar (tenses) genellikle bir derece geçmişe (backshift) kaydırılır.

• Simple Present → Simple Past: "I live in Istanbul." → He said (that) he lived in Istanbul.
• Present Continuous → Past Continuous: "She is reading." → He said she was reading.
• Simple Past / Present Perfect → Past Perfect: "We lost the game." → They said they had lost the game.
• Will → Would: "I will help you." → She said she would help me.
